Ruisselo Terms of Use

Effective October 23, 2026 · Version 1

In short. Play for fun, respect other players, don’t cheat. Local play requires no form; connected features are optional. The connected account can be deleted from Profile. Nothing in these terms takes away the rights the law gives you, including under Québec’s Consumer Protection Act.

1. Who we are and acceptance

Ruisselo is offered by Studio Brightloon, Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada (“we”). By playing Ruisselo, you accept these terms and acknowledge the privacy policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the game.

If you got the game from an app store, that store’s terms also apply: for the App Store, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; for Steam, the Steam Subscriber Agreement. Apple, Google and Valve are not responsible for the game or its support.

2. Age

Ruisselo is a general-audience game for teens and adults; it is not directed at children and must not be used by children under 13. If you are a minor, play with the agreement of your parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf. In Québec, a young person under 14 needs that agreement.

3. Your account

The game creates a local save without a form. The connected account is optional, pseudonymous and does not require an email. A secret token links the device to the account. You may choose to create a recovery kit: keep its key safe and do not share it; the server keeps only its hash. Recovery retrieves the same Ruisselo identity and invalidates the old session. Without the kit or a still-accessible session, uninstalling or clearing data may prevent account recovery even if a cloud save exists. An account is personal; do not sell yours or buy someone else’s.

4. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to play Ruisselo for non-commercial purposes. The game, its puzzles, artwork, music, text and trademarks belong to us or are used under licence. You may share your result cards and talk about the game, including in videos; you may not copy, resell or redistribute the game or its elements.

5. Purchases and virtual content

6. Refunds

Because the store processes the payment, refund requests go to the store, under its rules: for Apple, reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google Play, the refunds help page; for Steam, Steam’s refund policy. If a purchase was not delivered in the game, write to us (section 13) and we will help you restore it. This section does not limit any right the law gives you.

7. Rules of conduct

Ruisselo has no written messages between players: only names, avatars picked from our artwork and ready-made reactions. To keep it pleasant:

8. Reports and moderation

Every profile can be reported or blocked in the game. We review reports and may, depending on severity: remove a custom name (you go back to your generated name), suspend the choice of a custom name, keep a result or an account out of public leaderboards, or close an account. A custom name reported by three distinct eligible players for “offensive name” or “impersonation” within 30 days is removed automatically for 30 days. An implausible time may be held for review. If you think a decision is a mistake, write to us (section 13) and a person will review it.

9. Termination

You can stop playing and request deletion of the connected account through Profile › Delete, with confirmations (how). A valid session and available server are required. After success, online progress, friends, results, the recovery hash and account-linked commerce ledger are erased; the local game remains. The kit cannot recover a deleted account. Restoration of entitlements to a new account through the store account alone is not promised; backups and provider data are subject to the limits described in the privacy policy.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, after telling you when possible. We may also change the game or, one day, shut down its online features; we will give you at least 30 days’ notice in the game, and the game will stay playable offline as far as possible.

10. Warranties and liability

We do our best to keep the game working well, but it may be interrupted, contain errors, or have an online feature unavailable. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to direct and foreseeable damages. These limits do not apply where the law forbids them, in particular towards a consumer under Québec’s Consumer Protection Act, or in case of intentional or gross fault. Nothing in these terms excludes the legal warranties you benefit from.

11. Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute falls under the courts of the judicial district of Saint-François, unless you are a consumer: you may then go to the courts where you live, and, if you live in Québec, no clause can deprive you of that right. If you live elsewhere, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country still apply.

12. Changes

We may change these terms to follow changes in the game or the law. For a significant change, we will let you know in the game at least 30 days before it applies; you can then refuse the change by deleting your account, at no cost.
